Dingeman Hoek Group opts for: G2M (Goods-to-Man) automation

AGV International, in collaboration with UniCarriers and I'M Innovating, is currently producing the first five out of a total of 30 LT1500L RGVs (Rail Guided Vehicles) for DingemanHoek Groep.

DingemanHoek Groep consists of several companies that facilitate all links in the chain regarding the supply of a quality assortment of flowers, plants and accessories for florists. Each company has its own specialisation with customer satisfaction and quality being paramount at all times. ‘In 3 years, we saw a big change emerge, in the demand of our customers’ says Ruben Hoek, Director Export at DingemanHoek Groep.

Efficiency in flower logistics: How AGVs set the new standard for Dingeman Hoek Groep

Whereas our customer used to be interested in large orders of the same variety, considerable fineness in order demand arises and consumers now tend to order less of more. So the demand for flowers became much more specific as a result.' For Dingeman Hoek Group, this technically meant a large range with shallow quantities. As a result, authentic order picking was no longer efficient and, at substantial peak demand, even inefficient. ‘We were searching and it was ultimately our software supplier who put us in touch with Tom Broeder of AGV International | UniCarriers, continues Ruben.’ After talking to several parties, we opted for a high-performance AGV system from AGV International.' 'AGV International can empathise with our industry and offered us an extremely comprehensive and flexible total package. On AGV International's advice, our choice fell on the LT1500L (low transporter). A system that meets the required safety requirements and also focuses on the goods-to-man principle. The new system is enormously suitable for the flower industry. For instance, the LT1500L is resistant to moisture and temperature differences' With the arrival of the AGV system, DingemanHoek Groep also solved a large part of its personnel shortage.

'It was difficult to find suitable staff so we were struggling with scarcity. Through this G2M automation, this problem is mitigated, allowing us to focus on other things, Ruben said'. 'The aim is to increase our stability in the short term. With our new system, we are now prepared for all our customers‘ needs.’
